May 8:  Ete's last-minute jam

Question:  What do you do when you're feeling a little under the weather and someone books you for a three-hour show a day before it's supposed to take place?

Answer:  Quickly get some friends to join you on stage.

Dom's friend Ete did exactly that in order to fill out a Saturday show at Port City Java in Deptford, N.J.  Ete is a fantastic singer/guitarist/songwriter, and he puts on a tremendous live show (even when he feels a bit sick).  Four performers joined Ete on the bill, including Dom, who played a half-hour set.

April 8:  'Lightning Struck' on GarageBand.com

Dom's third upload to the world's largest Internet site for independent musicians has a twist.  Forgoing the Folk/Country genre, Dom placed the title track to his album in the contest for Alternative Rock.  Tougher competition, but stylistically that's where the tune should be.  We'll see how the song fares in the review contest.

Mar. 25:  Year II for Open Mic Night

Dom ended his first year as host of Open Mic Night at Port City Java in Deptford, N.J. -- and the second year is under way!

The March 25 show was Week 53 of Dom's official involvement with the local showcase.  Continue to look for Dom and co-host Kris Noyes on Thursdays in Deptford!

Feb. 13:  'Take off your hat ... '

Dom spent Friday the 13th of February at the Jersey Shore ... and got a strange request.

Joe Kozak was the headlining performer at the Dead Dog Saloon in Sea Isle City, and he invited Dom to perform during his first break.  What was supposed to be an audition in front of the Dog's owner turned into a bit of comedy when some female audience members responded to Dom's set with an unusual -- and unusually worded! -- request:  "Take off your hat and show us your butt!"

Gee, thought Dom, I always figured I was more like Beavis.

Thanks to Terry Young and everyone at Dead Dog for the chance to grace your stage, and especially thanks to Joe (who played a fantastic opening-night show) for the invitation.  And ladies, you've already received your thanks ... hope you enjoyed the view!

Jan. 14:  'Fast Asleep' on GarageBand.com

Dom uploaded his second song to GarageBand.com.  "Fast Asleep" entered the Folk/Country active contest on Jan. 14, and finished in the top half of the rankings.  The tune can be heard in its entirety through the GarageBand site.

Jan. 9:  Sittin' in with Barry

Dom attended Barry Dwier's show at Coffee Works in Voorhees, N.J., and got to be part of the festivities.  Barry is the best blues harmonica player in South Jersey (catch him with the Frank DiNunzio Blues Band if you can!), but he also puts on a fantastic solo show with his "backwards" guitar.

Toward the end of the night, Dom joined Barry on stage to play guitar and sing while Barry broke out the harmonicas and showed the audience what he can really do!  The two performend guitar-n-harp renditions of Bob Dylan's "Like a Rollin' Stone," Bruce Springsteen's "Atlantic City," and B.B. King's "The Thrill Is Gone."

Jan. 2:  New co-host at open mic

Please welcome Kris Noyes to Port City Java's Open Mic Night.  A singer/guitarist, D.J. and former open mic host in South Jersey, Kris will co-host the show with Dom beginning in January of 2004.
