This was supposed to be a simple opening-act performance for Dom, but it turned into a bigger show when one of the bands cancelled on the day of the gig.
First, a little background: This is a show that came about totally through MySpace. Dom answered a bulletin sent out by up-and-coming South Jersey rockers 77 LeSabre, in which they were asking for bands to be on a bill with them. Dom asked if the acts had to be bands, or if a solo performer who knew how to rock would be acceptable.
Jim Santora, lead singer for 77 LeSabre, spoke to Dom and decided to give it a try, getting Dom added to a three-act rock show at the Cherrywood Lounge.
So, before talking about the setlist, big thanks has to go out to Jim for taking a chance on a solo performer for a hard rock show and to Marty from Cherrywood Lounge for accepting the arrangement to have a solo guy with a bucket hat play during band night!
Now, back to the show itself. The band that was supposed to close the show had to back out with only a few hours until showtime. Dom and Jim sent e-mails to each other and came up with a plan to fill the extra time by having each act do two alternating sets. The second sets were a little shorter than the first round, but they were all fun!
