| Dec. 2, 2006 Brewed Attitude Hamilton, N.J. "Freebird!" A couple of weeks before this show, a friend requested that Dom perform the Lynyrd Skynyrd classic rock song at his earliest return to this Central Jersey coffeeshop. Was he joking or did he really want Dom to attempt a guitar-hero anthem? Well, Dom played it on this first Saturday of December. "Freebird." But, there was a catch: Dom performed the song with only lead vocals and harmonica. It's what Skynyrd would've done if they were chillin' on a porch somewhere without a good power source nor space for any drums or other tools of the trade. (oh, use your imagination!) No swaying cigarette lighters were spotted during the rendition, but someone lifted a candle off a coffeetable and waved it back and forth. Thankfully, nothing hapened that required a visit from the local fire department; really don't want to go through THAT again at a show. Also, being that it's the last month before the calendar changes AND a holy season for many faiths, Dom broke out the timely tunes "New Year" (an original) and the traditional "Amazing Grace." Expect one or both to pop up again before 2006 ends. A new harmonica joined Dom's "full band" this show. The harp in the key of "D" made it's debut during "Cold Pizza" and stuck around for a fingerpicked cover of Bruce Springsteen's "No Surrender" in the first hour.
