| Aug. 3, 2007 Bridgeton Farm Mkt. Bridgeton, N.J. This was actually a return trip to the Bridgeton Farmers Market. Back in July, Dom did a last-minute fill-in with no prepared playlist, so it wasn't worth posting a recap with no hard information. On the first Friday of August, however, the appearance was booked weeks in advance and, most importantly, there's something to tell! The Farmers Market takes place in perhaps the only section of downtown Bridgeton that isn't oppressively hot in the dog days of summer: the bank of the Cohansey River, with a breeze all afternoon. A few old friends decided to take an outdoor lunch to catch the music from noon to 2 p.m., and a few people decided to introduce themselves and become new friends (on that note, it was a fine conclusion to the day to chat with the third and fourth generation owners of Weber's Candy over lemon and mango water-ice). Every song from Along the Way made the playlist, and actually, they were performed in the order of their appearance on the album. That might become a fun gimmick to bring out for these two-set shows in the future. One show debut of a Dom original song: "Heartbeat Lullaby" -- a song you might be hearing more about in coming months -- near the end of the second hour. A honk of a tractor-trailer horn blared in perfect time at the end of the harmonica solo; oh, the wonders of outdoor live music!
