This Thursday-evening gig was booked a few days before it occurred, when the original performer had to cancel. Dom got a call to fill in and play some mellow music at an Italian restaurant and coffee bar during the dinner/dessert hours.
Besides playing "Cold Pizza" -- hey, the place makes many varieties of gourmet, brick-oven pizza -- the environment provided the chance to take a some rockin' tunes and make a little more folksy. One such song, "Hugs and Kisses," sounded quite different from the choral arrangement on Along the Way or the rollicking strummed rendition from other live shows. The new fingerpicked version worked well, and might pop up again as an alternate flavor in future shows.
