| Mar. 14, 2009 Home Grown Cafe Newark, Del. Dom's first trip of the year to Delaware couldn't have occurred in a more festive, lively setting! The Saturday before St. Patrick's Day became a de facto celebration day for many in the Newark, Del., area. Plus, the University of Delaware -- based in Newark and brushing up against Main Street where Home Grown Cafe is located -- was not yet on spring break, so the stylish restaurant/bar in the heart of the city was filled all night with townsfolk and collegefolk. To mark the holiday that was to take place officially on Tuesday, Dom played a song by an Irish artist in each set (U2, Van Morrison, and Philadelphia-based Patrick's Head). One debut of a Dom original: "Better Than a Thesis," a short tune squeezed in at the end of the final set.
