| May 1, 2009 Home Grown Cafe Newark, Del. Despite four cases of swine flu at the University of Delaware, the surrounding city of Newark proceeded as normal on a spring weekend. The stretch of rainy days that had begun midweek tapered off, and plenty of people were out walking on Main Street. Many of them popped into Home Grown Cafe, which was busy all night. This gig's winner of the Best Comment Award went to the customer who told Dom, "You sound better than you look." High praise, indeed! Since this was Dom's first long show of baseball season, "Makin' Good Time" (the tribute to the wisodm of Yogi Berra) got into the playlist. Good Shepherd Sunday was the same weekend as this performance, so the song of the same name opened the third set. Dom tinkered a bit with the rhythm of "Blow Away" and played it for the first time as more of a blues shuffle; looks like it will stay that way. One debut of a Dom original: "Probably," near the end of the second set.
