Home Grown Cafe Newark, Del. For the second time ever, a fire alarm went off at one of Dom's performances. This time, it was not Dom's fault. The final Saturday of August was part of "move-in weekend" at nearby University of Delaware, and someone or something in one of the student-rented apartments above Home Grown Cafe triggered a building-wide alarm a little before midnight. Since Dom had only one more song remaining in the second set, he went ahead and played "When I Get Back" with the alarm beeping and the lights flashing. After finishing the tune, the restaurant was evacuated (not because of the song; it's some sort of law that you have to leave the building until the fire department clears everyone to re-enter). There was no damage and no apparent fire, so everyone got to go inside by about 20 minutes after midnight. Dom played an abbreviated third set until closing time. The restaurant was busy all night, helped by plenty of college students getting reacquainted with the area before the start of another school year. The action made the show extra fun. Heck, even the fire alarm was fun! One show debut for a Dom original: "Tomboy" in the second set.
